O trabalho do Duo Siqueira Lima está atraindo a atenção de músicos e críticos no Brasil e no exterior. Bebendo diretamente na fonte latino-americana, a uruguaia Cecília Siqueira e o brasileiro Fernando Lima se sobressaem em função especialmente da originalidade que imprimem ao repertório, desde a escolha das obras até a forma de execução. Seu mais recente album discográfico Um a Um, foi lançado na Europa e nos Estados Unidos pelo selo Belga GHA Records e vem recebendo excelentes críticas de publicações especializadas.
O primeiro encontro foi marcado por um acontecimento histórico em suas carreiras. Eles se conheceram num concurso internacional de violão que se realizou no ano de 2001 em Caxias do Sul –RG. Entre todos os participantes, que vinham de vários paises, Cecília e Fernando dividiram o primeiro lugar. Este fato foi de total importância para o início de uma carreira internacional e para a formação do duo Siqueira Lima.
Em 2002, quando ainda se dedicavam a suas carreiras individuais, se interessaram em gravar algumas peças juntos, foi quando fizeram o CD “Tudo ConCorda”, com solos e duo. Desde a estréia, o casal colheu numerosas críticas favoráveis, e teve como incentivador e orientador o renomado professor Henrique Pinto.
O duo consolidou-se em 2006, com a gravação do CD “Lado a Lado” que inaugurou o nome oficial de Duo Siqueira-Lima. Este disco revelou a principal tendência musical do duo, a música brasileira. Eles estrearam um repertório totalmente inédito e inovador para a formação de duo de violões, passando por uma variedade de compositores de primeira grandeza da nossa música popular brasileira.
Desde de então eles vêm se apresentando por várias partes do mundo, sendo aclamado como uma revelação musical de sua geração.
A carreira internacional se estende por toda Europa, da Espanha a Rússia, da Irlanda a Ucrânia. Suas turnês européias inclui concertos em eminentes teatros e festivais como o Festival Internacional de Guitare de Paris (França), Palácio Kongresowa (Varsóvia-Polônia); International Musical Festival (Kaluga-Rússia); Jazz Festival (São Petersburgo-Rússia), Festival de Guitare de Lausanne (Lausanne-Suíça), Festival Guitares du Monde (Perpignan – França), National Concert Hall e Festival of World Cultures,(Dublin-Irlanda), Palazzina Liberty (Milão-Itália), Sala Tchaikovsky (Gomel–Bielorússia), CasteloËsterhaze (Fertod-Hungria), entre outros.
Além do entrosamento a dois, realizaram um grande Show ao lado do lendário clarinetista Paulo Moura - maestro e figura marcante na música brasileira. Este projeto realizou-se no teatro do SESC Vila Mariana na cidade de São Paulo, na série "Encontros", e teve como tema a obra de Radamés Gnattali e Astor Piazzolla.
O Duo também vem sendo solicitado com frequencia à se apresentar com orquestras sinfônicas e a ministrar palestras e Master Classes em diversas universidades dos Estados Unidos, como Brazilian Music Institute – University of Florida (Gainesville – Flórida) e SMU Meadows School of Arts (Fort Worth-Texas).

The work of the “Duo Siqueira Lima” is raising the attention of musicians and critics all over Brazil and overseas. Drinking directly from the Latin-American source, specially the Brazilian music, Cecilia and Fernando are playing together since 2002 and they are outlined specially for the originality stamped on the selection of their repertory up to the way of executing it.
Born in Paysandú, Uruguay, Cecilia possesses a strong tradition of the Uruguayan folklore, which joins the folk and regional tradition of the “mineiro” (who is born in Minas Gerais, Brazil) Fernando.
Their first meeting was pinpointed by a historical event in their careers. They made acquaintance with each other in an international guitar competition in Caxias do Sul-RS (Brazil) in 2001. Among all the participants who came from different countries, Cecilia and Fernando turned out to be winners sharing the first prize. This event was of vital importance for their beginning of an international career as a duo.
In 2002 while they were still working as soloists, they became interested in recording some pieces together and so they released the CD “Todo ConCorda” playing both as a duo and as soloists. From the beginning the couple gathered many favorable reviews and had as incentivator and orientator the brazilian professor Henrique Pinto.
The official name: “Duo Siqueira Lima” was consolidated after recording the Cd “ Lado a Lado” in 2006. This CD shows that the principal trend of the duo is the brazilian music. On it, they debuted a new and innovative repertoire, passing across variety of top brazilian composers . Since then, they have performed around the world, being acclaimed as one of the musical revelations of their generation.
Their international career spreads across Europe, from Spain to Russia, from Ireland to Ukraine. The European touring includes performances at important theatres and festivals such as: “Palace Kongresowa” (Warsaw- Poland), “International Musical Festival” (Kaluga- Russia), “Jazz Festival” (Saint Petersburg- Russia), “Festival de Guitare de Lausanne” ( Lausanne-Switzerland), Festival “ Guitares du Monde” (Perpignan-France), “ National Concert Hall” and “Festival of World Cultures” (Dublin- Ireland), “Palazzina Liberty” (Milan- Italy), “Tchaikovsky Hall” (Gomel- Byelorussia), “Esterhaze” Castel (Fertod- Hungary), among others.
Apart from the duo concerts, they made a big show with the legendary clarinetist Paulo Moura - conductor and remarkable figure in the Brazilian popular music. This project took place at the theater of SESC Vila Mariana in São Paulo, as part of the series "Meetings" and its theme was about the work of Radames Gnattali and Astor Piazzolla. In 2009 in the tribute to 50 years of Heitor-Villa Lobo’s death, they played as soloists with the “Metropolitan Orchestra of Sao Paulo”. In the same year they gave classes of technique, interpretation and arrangement in the University of Florida, at the Brazilian Music Institute, in Gainesville (Florida-EUA).
